Scientists not sure if Earth's ice caps are melting faster

Postby kramer » Mon Jul 15, 2013 5:32 pm

From the Rockefeller associated "The Guardian":

Monday 15 July 2013 06.21 EDT
Polar ice loss cause still unclear
New research shows that glaciologists still cannot say for certain whether the Earth's north and south polar ice is melting faster

Here is a non-conclusion: after nine years of close observation, researchers still cannot be sure whether the planet is losing its ice caps at an accelerating rate.

That is because the run of data from one satellite is still not long enough [Yeah, I've pointed out a number of times that we only have around 32 years of satellite data...] to answer the big question: are Greenland and Antarctica melting because of global warming, or just blowing hot before blowing cold again in some long-term natural cycle?

Does anybody think this will stop the calamitoligists in the MSM and the science organizations from spreading fear and more fear and guilt and shame? Of course not.

It won't stop until the Utopians achieve their utopian socialist command and control green hell monitored and kept in place by government voyeuristic paranoid control freaks trying to keep (their riches and elite lifestyles) us 'safe.' We'll most likely be an unarmed populace that will probably be fed drugs via our food or water supplies that will make us more passive and empathetic (turn us into effeminate liberal 'men') and stunt our growth so we use less resources and can then really 'look up' to our leftist masters...

I don't know what you've been eating (or smoking), kramer, but you've gone absolutely Orwellian on us. Time to refocus?

I don't know...

Most of these thoughts I write I get from the MSM and science sites. For example, I've read that scientists have floated the ideas of making us smaller so we use less resources and also to give us drugs to make us more empathetic so we will believe scientists and be more altruistic.

As far as the green utopia, there's Sustainia and I've listed link after link that shows the left wants a global government. And to the control-freak future, just look at what the NSA is doing (and this is what we know of).

I can provide links to everything I just said. Let me know if you'd like to see any of them (they should already be here on this site but I can relink them...).

Once again--looking at the actual article from Nature Geoscience--the main emphasis about the melting is that it is currently causing sea level rise at a faster rate than the linear rate that was previously expected to occur. They are not unsure if they are melting faster, they are unsure of whether they are melting at a rate that is faster than the predicted linear rate.

So basically it's happening faster than previously expected and they aren't sure why, so they call for more study.

Science.

My main emphasis was that the 32 year satellite record is too short.

I can't count how many times I've read some fear article by some calamitoligist in the MSM that pointed to the satellite record as proof of man's evil CO2 deeds.

Then I suggest you don't use a completely misleading thread topic.
