Ashley Maddison

Post by not4u13 » Thu Aug 20, 2015 5:39 am

Life is short, have an affair.

I had never heard of this site, but that's their motto. Now they have been hacked and millions of people worldwide have had their affair, along with other personal data, compromised. How interesting. The cheaters website has been cheated. I'm not much of a fan of hackers or having them disclose personal data, but somehow I don't feel sorry for these people.

Although, maybe I should. It is reported that a Saudi man is in fear for his life as he has been outed as being gay by the site.

I feel for any Saudi on the list. Adultery is punishable by death there.

The site's in for some big legal trouble over this. Maybe. They had a deal where they'd remove people's records if they paid $19 but apparently they didn't do that. Waiting to see if people out themselves further by suing.

No pity from me, either. Except for the above-mentioned Saudis. And French politicians. :yawn

I heard on NPR that 15,000 of the email addresses hacked were .gov or .mil. How stupid do you have to be not to set up a gmail or similar web email account for these type of things?

No pity in general for these folks but downright disdain for idiots.

Here's our first semi-celebrity participant, "family values" activist Josh Duggar!

They probably should have installed a private server in their homes. You know, strictly for personal stuff like this.

One of the biggest struggles in my quest for wisdom is how people who campaign for "family values" always seem to get caught in these things. I'm sure Dugar won't be the only name to come up. There will probably be a number of others, including preachers and maybe more celebrities and politicians. I can understand the ones who campaign against gay rights and later come out as gay, but the ones who publicly champion good Christian family values and later get caught with three underage hookers baffle me.

And then there are the preachers who invariably show up in these things. How can somebody preach the Ten Commandments and that God's watching your every move but they don't pay any attention themselves? The usual excuse is "weakness" but it isn't. It's sleaziness. Call it what it is. Friggin' atheists have better "Christian" morals than these people. How is that supposed to work?

I know numerous individuals of both sexes that have had affairs. They all have one thing in common. They all got caught.
They told me if I voted for Hillary Clinton the president would be emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable. They were right. I voted for Hillary Clinton and got a president that is emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable.

I feel sorry for the people who have to go on line to find an affair.. Guess that's what happens when they only text, not talk to other people.. Either way, not really knowing the "partner" leaves one wide open for big problems; black mail, disease, stalkers, guilt trips, law suits, paternity suits, and needy emotional cases..

Puleese...mine is an entertaining hobby enjoyed by all with open minds and a sense of humor. MDDAD's is a constant whine fest supported by you, Trog, Bev, and SBH.... big difference. :D

Get ready for the "dance". I think we are hearing from a number of people who say they were just "testing" or "curious". They were tesing all right ... probing is more like it.

I don't feel sorry for them, per se. I do think it underscores that our socieity, in general, is not as "civilized" as we like to believe. Reminds me a little of Heidi Fliess, the Hollywood Madam. The electronic version of the little black book.

I am no longer surprised at how stupid people can be. Surfing porn at work, using work e-mail to do illegal things, etc. It's almost like we need a new verion of the Darwin awards that crowns those that commit political suicide by stupid actions with electronic media.

Looks like we have too many people who are too non-slick to start a new G-mail account for it. They probably have users from every imaginable employer. Do you really think people are going to be dumb enough to use a site like that from home?

Don't answer that. They were dumb enough to use their work addys. :bonk:
