Why I get upset about starting threads in the wrong forum
by John Q. Public
I went looking for this thread but couldn't find it where I thought it would be, so I did a search. Turns out it was under High School. Well, duh.

So anyway, I just stumbled across a microblogging application I could install. The example I saw of it looks reasonable and there are plugins available that they say let you draw from and share with Twitter, Facebook, Delicio.us and others. I'm not real sure about that, though. The plugins pages don't go into a lot of detail and a couple of them sound like they're made for people a little more geeky than most of us.
It sounds like it could be useful but it also sounds like it could be pointless. I don't know. I've never tweeted and I haven't spent much time there, so I don't know a lot about such things.
Anybody have any thoughts? Reply here or PM me if you'd rather.

Who says it is really them? If you believe them, there is a little old lady in Africa that needs help cashing in her lottery ticket. And I don't know if I would want all the thieves to know I wasn't at home.THe Nug wrote:I know it's fairly lame but you can find some cool people Twittering (Twating?). If you're not up to speed, it's a way to keep in touch with up-to-the-minute updates of what you are doing.
There are some interesting people on it. Here's a few I came across...

Verifed Account for example THE_REAL_SHAQ
Re: Do you Twitter?
What does it mean?
With this feature, you can easily see which accounts we know are 'real' and authentic. That means we've been in contact with the person or entity the account is representing and verified that it is approved. (This does not mean we have verified who, exactly, is writing the tweets.)

John McCain tweets
SenJohnMcCain: Last American combat troops leave Iraq. I think President George W. Bush deserves some credit for victory.
I'm kinda thinking he should be...

Re: Do you Twitter?
I don't find twitter appealing. I'm not anti internet social or anything. I have a facebook account and I blog. But on twitter, people mostly post what they eat, what time they woke up, where they are, etc. Not my thing. Hehe
