Pete Rose banned for life...si o no?

Post by Parrotpaul » Tue Dec 15, 2015 7:52 am

Pete Rose's lifetime ban from baseball has been upheld. Even though Pete after about 28 years of denial finally admitted he did bet on baseball in 1987 and 1988, his ban remains. Pete seems to have been under the impression if he came clean everything would be forgiven. Apparently the league isn't convinced he is telling the entire story, but it is convinced Rose simply doesn't grasp the gravity of his bad decision. Thoughts?

Not only did he bet on baseball games (including his own team) when he was managing and lie about it, 30 years later he's still doing it, and still lying about it:

"Manfred said when he met with the 74-year-old Rose, the 17-time All-Star at first was not forthcoming about his current gambling. Manfred called that "troubling."

"Rose initially denied betting on baseball currently and only later in the interview did he 'clarify' his response to admit such betting," Manfred wrote."

One of the requisites for being reinstated was to stop gambling on baseball games...it's pretty clear he has a problem and refuses to admit it.
