I think it will show up in the polls for those folks, but not necessarily any loud public opposition. Kind of like how you'd hear a bit about Giuliani's misbehaviors but the sentiment hurt him.

The title of this thread should be "Republican Gloom and Doom"

The dems will try to demonize any GOP contender. They know Obama is very vulnerable, and will stop at nothing to kill off any challenges.

You think that his Republican opponents are going to play nice with kid gloves?

This is funny. It's not like the GOP demonizes Obama every day. He's socialist, communist, muslim, or Kenyan. He associates with America haters, communists, or folks deemed unpatriotic by the right wing.

Here's a quote from a former GOP staffer (Tom DeLay right-hand Michael Scanlon (yes, that Michael Scanlon, the Jack Abramoff buddy who used to work for The Hammer)) in an email during the Clinton impeachment trial.
This whole thing about not kicking someone when they are down is BS – not only do you kick him – you kick him until he passes out – then beat him over the head with a baseball bat – then roll him up in an old rug – and throw him off a cliff into the pounding surf below!!!!

So I'm sure the GOP will throw nothing at Obama more significant than the political equivalent of mud pies.

Won't matter. Obama will flatten out whoever gets put forth as the sacrificial lamb.

Saw George Will (I don't often agree with him but I respect his opinion) on This Week on Sunday say that he thinks the next president will be one of three people: Obama, Daniels or Pawlenty. Interesting.

You shouldn't bash Trog like this. He's one of your supporters.

Although it's interesting that you only criticize the Dems for going dirty. Therein lies the flaw in your criticism. It makes no sense to endure mudslinging when the other side engages in open complete negative campaigning and then criticize the other side for responding in the same manner.

Neither do I. Once again you resort to fantasy to make an argument.

Not true, Wabby. You and Pagan are notorious tag-team partners and leap-frog aficionados.
