A few SOTU observations

Re: the economy he was gushing over, HELLO, just last week your own government reported that in 2019 it grew at its slowest pace since...2016

How many times did he go to the "The failed _____ policies of the previous administration" well? Only a rube in a MAGA hat wouldn't know that the economy had been humming along for years when he took office

"We will never let socialism destroy American health care" because...I want to destroy it myself! Oh, and while we're on the subject, keep your socialist hands off Social Security as well!

The made-for-TV moments with Limbaugh getting the MOF ( :puke: ) and the Service member/family reunion were way too 1) partisan and 2) contrived and out-of-place for the setting

And his dog-whistle labeling of immigrants and asylum seekers as "criminal aliens" is just plain disgusting, no matter the venue...another bone for the base

Overall the whole thing felt like a campaign speech...albeit with a much better-dressed and decidedly higher-IQ audience

P.S. Oh and yeah, he DID see her hand...

What was the record for the number of times the word "I" was uttered in a SOTU?

Whatever it was it got obliterated tonight

Pelosi played him like a Strad. No one is talking about what he said. They're talking about her ripping up his speech.

As is typical. The snowflakes don't mention that he pointedly refused to shake her hand.

Good job Nancy.

The fact checkers are debunking his false claims one by one...he kept talking about "inheriting a mess" from Obama but he just pulled that out of his considerable ***, of course...

Comparing Trump's 35 months in office to Obama's last 35 months:

New jobs/mo:
Trump - 191,000
Obama - 227,000

Lowered unemployment rate by:
Trump - 1.2%
Obama - 2.0%

Real Wage Growth
Trump - 0.6%
Obama - 1.1%

GDP Growth:
Trump - 2.5%
Obama - 2.5%

Yet his mindless fans just lapped it up...

The whining about Pelosi is truly ironic coming from a group that likes to say, "eff your feelings" and "go to your safe space."

Christine Pelosi tweeted this.

Best description ever.
In a smooth 3 seconds she dispensed with his 70 minute manifesto of mistruths. Classic Italian Grandma move - saying everything without saying a word.
And no one is talking about his speech. They're talking about Pelosi.

Trump sent a retired teacher a letter about gun policy. She fixed the grammar and sent it back.

These never get old.

Incidentally, acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf, acting Director of OMB Russell Vought, acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire and acting CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan are all beyond the limit of 210 days they can legally serve in "acting" roles.

Our man-child president tweeted this today. Maybe someone else can explain why rank is enclosed in quotes. If not to imply a falsehood.
Fake News @CNN & MSDNC keep talking about “Lt. Col.” Vindman as though I should think only how wonderful he was. Actually, I don’t know him, never spoke to him, or met him (I don’t believe!) but, he was very insubordinate, reported contents of my “perfect” calls incorrectly, &…
— Donald J. Trump
No response from the MAGA/Snowflake crowd that demands anything less than unconditional respect for the military.

Proving yet another good thing Trump has done. That the "Supporting the Troops" mantra is a facade.

Imagine if a female politician had a photo like this of such a bad makeup job. Makes you yearn for the days when the Sarah Palin's of the world complained about Obama's skinny jeans.

I wondered about that, too. Was he mocking him for not being a Full Bird Colonel or for "only" being an O-5 and not a General (which would over-qualify him for the position)? Or is he planning on busting him, somehow? Not a UCMJ expert but that doesn't seem very likely.

I said this before, I have some close Conservative/Evangelical friends and they all believe they are moral, honorable and decent people. They never evaluate their support of Trump because they have a list of straw men, assumptions, half-truths and outright lies that make a statement like the one above perfectly fine.

More SOTU BS Exposed

The Huckster-in-Chief gets caught in yet another blatant, easily provable lie...

Girl Chosen By Trump To Symbolize Failing Schools Attends a Popular Charter Program

The Philadelphia fourth-grader whom President Trump singled out during his State of the Union address as one of thousands of students “trapped in failing government schools” actually attends a sought-after charter school...

A White House fact sheet released ahead of the State of the Union speech described Stephanie Davis as “a hard working single mother who is hoping for the expansion of school choice to be able to send Janiyah to a school that best serves her needs.”

But administration officials would not answer any questions about where Janiyah attends school or where she hoped to go...

As it turns out, she attends the popular Math, Science and Technology Community Charter School III, known as MaST III...

Charter schools are taxpayer funded but independently run and are one of the options that school-choice proponents typically tout. MaST III received 6,500 applications for 100 spots next year, with slots distributed via lottery...

“I don’t view MaST as a school you want to get out of at all. I view it as a great opportunity,” Davis told the paper.

Idiots

Trump Campaign Manager Deletes Dramatic Air Force One Photo After People Point Out It's From 2004

Brad Parscale tweeted the 2004 photo, which shows Air Force One rising above packed stands at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida, and wrote, ".@realDonaldTrump won the #Daytona500 before the race even started."

The tweet stayed online for about three hours, drawing at least 6,700 retweets and 23,000 likes before it was deleted. Users identifying themselves as Trump supporters replied with messages like "Amazing shot wow" and "WOW WHAT A SHOT!!!!!!!!!"

But the photo was taken by photographer Jonathan Ferrey on February 15, 2004, after Bush's visit to the racetrack, as Air Force One took off from the adjacent Daytona Beach International Airport.

Not the first (nor last) time that Trumpsters find out what they're being spoon-fed and lapping right up is a crock...
