To quote an old political line from someone smarter than I.

He paid less in taxes than a Covid-furloughed coal miner.

One of my FB friends posted this.
It’s also more clear than ever why Donald Trump has been fighting so hard to keep his tax returns from the New York grand jury that subpoenaed them. If Trump is as broke as he claims, then he committed felony fraud by inflating his net worth to potential lenders. And if he isn’t as broke as he claims, then he’s going down for tax fraud.

Seems like that would implicate her as well, since she's an employee/owner/jr. partner/whatever she is.Omar Bongo wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 4:19 pm 3. “Trump’s private records show that his company once paid $747,622 in fees to an unnamed consultant for hotel projects in Hawaii and Vancouver, British Columbia. Ivanka Trump’s public disclosure forms – which she filed when joining the White House staff in 2017 – show that she had received an identical amount through a consulting company she co-owned.”
Wondering, also, how his Middle East envoy/son-in-law might be involved and if the "peace agreements" with the UAE and Bahrain might be related.

I'm betting that coal miner's yearly salary is well below the $70,000 deduction trump took "to take care of his hair"John Q. Public wrote:He paid less in taxes than a Covid-furloughed coal miner.
"Trump is what he is, a floundering, inarticulate jumble of gnawing insecurities and not-at-all compensating vanities, which is pathetic."

Gotta find me a new accounting team. The worthless SOBs didn't even ask me about hair care expenses.

I wonder who leaked them. the Right Wing seem more interested in seeking “who leaked” the president’s records to the NY Times.
Could it have been Parscale? He’s been depressed for the past two weeks after being replaced as campaign manager. Some of my friends on the left actually think it was the First Lady — who won’t get a generous divorce settlement from a re-negotiated pre-nup if the President’s debt far outweighs his holdings. A Trump loss in November and a quickie divorce in early 2021 isn’t exactly fiction.
Any other guesses?

Isn't a lot of this just atainable data?

According to the Times they got the records from someone who's legally allowed to have them.

So Joe refused to stoop to Trumps prodding for a drug test...
Trump still hasn't submitted the DNA test for the rape case against him.

His niece says it wasn't her.

I don't really know, but there are all sorts of ways a business owner can legally "share the wealth" with family members. What stands out about the "consulting fee" is that she would have had to bill for it and it would have been treated differently (by both parties) for tax purposes than any of the other ways he could have given her money. I'm not an accountant or a tax attorney but something sounds fishy (in its own particular way) about that one.

As long as she was 1099'd taxes will be paid, so I don't see a problem here. But I can't think of a good reason to do it that way. It is very strange. Maybe as simple as a liquidity issue.
Also, without the actual tax returns, none of this means anything. We've known this stuff for years.

Summary of three reactions I got from pro -Trump friends and reading and listening to pro- Trump media.
I have grievance and hostility towards the government, so Trump getting over on the IRS is a win for me.
It is not my place to question the complexity of the tax returns of the rich and powerful.
It is not my place to question the morality of our appointed and anointed leaders.
