Fixed it.
They told me if I voted for Hillary Clinton the president would be emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable. They were right. I voted for Hillary Clinton and got a president that is emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable.

Given the recent revelations about Kushner's and Ivanka's use of personal email accounts to conduct official business. And the lack of criticism from the GOP.

We now know the concern over Clinton's use of a personal email server was bogus.

Not that we didn't know that already.

President Trump is a wise, generous and brilliant man whose essential goodness is surpassed only by his deep humility.

He has the wit of Mark Twain, the hands of Larry Bird and he's a dead ringer for Robert Redford . He dances like Fred Astaire and he's hung like Secretariat.

After graduating summa cum laude he led the New York Yankees to 3 World Series while simultaneously winning 3 PGA Championships.

When his country called he was ready and overcoming painful bone spurs he served 3 tours in 'Nam with John Rambo, winning the Congressional Medal of Honour.
He returned home and tried to make his own way in the world. By day he built thrusting skyscrapers that made Ayn Rand spontaneously orgasm. By night he battled criminal masterminds for the soul of his city.
During decades in the construction business he never met anyone from the Mafia despite his mentor Roy Cohn being a notorious bagman for the Mob.
His bestselling book "The Art Of The Deal" was made into an Oscar, Grammy and Tony award winning musical. He was offered an Emmy Lifetime Achievement award but turned it down because it just wasnt gold enough.
Despite Donald Jnr openly bragging about plentiful Russian funding for Trump businesses (which he divested from- you saw all the folders) he wouldn't recognize a Russian oligarch in a line-up.
His 3 Atlantic City casinos help finance his Christian philanthropy. The Pope offered him a sainthood. He's devoted to his highly intelligent super model wife and has never met a porn star or hooker in his life. Especially Russian ones in 2013. Despite Obama bussing ten million illegal Kenyans in to vote in New Hampshire Trump won in 2016 by 30 million votes. All 30 million of them turned up to rejoice at his inauguration...Led Zeppelin reformed to play the mainstage. When they hungered he divided a few loaves and fishes and fed the masses. He bestrides the world like a Colossus.

I went to a small high school. 120 in my graduating class. It has been a wonderful tool to help us reunite. Sadly we are at the age where we are getting news of each other's passing. Just the opposite with family. I have hundreds of extended members. It has been great for reuniting with some I haven't seen or heard from in decades.

I do engage in political discussions on FB. But I never start them.

Some thoughts about trump, the Mueller report, and how he's fitting into the office.

From an editorial in yesterday's Chicago Tribune:

It could be Trump is not a crook but a fool. As campaign slogans go, that one lacks something. So does “still not indicted.” But they are about the best that can be said of him and his conspicuous pattern of unsavory behavior.

In December, Trump was forced to shut down his foundation after the attorney general of New York found “a shocking pattern of illegality,” including “self-dealing transactions that directly benefited Mr. Trump.” But the criminal investigation of his fraudulent charity continues.

From what is known about Mueller’s report, which covered only a narrow range of Trump’s many squalid practices, we can’t conclude that the president is a criminal. But we have abundant proof that he is the worst person ever to become president, as well as the least competent and conscientious president ever.

Yet his defenders treat a decision not to pursue criminal charges as a shining affirmation of his personal integrity and presidential excellence. Their response to the Mueller findings confirms that when it comes to judging Trump, they don’t have low standards. They have no standards.

Not that I'm complaining.

The administration just threw the Democratic Party a giant-sized life preserver. Team Trump could have spent the week celebrating while the blue team squirmed. But by going after Obamacare the next day, they allowed Nancy Pelosi & Co. to quickly begin changing the narrative. Already, on most of the news sites (including some of the right-leaning sites, like The Hill), the lead story is Obamacare and not Mueller. It was one of the key issues that propelled Democrats to victory in the 2018 midterms, and that was when the discussion was merely about the possibility of tossing 10-20 million people off the insurance rolls.

Republicans who are not Trump, including many who once savaged the ACA, know that the issue is a loser for them. So, they are trying very hard to avoid comment on the decision made by the administration. But if Trump sticks to his guns—and, given his loathing of Obama and his desire to erase everything Obama ever did, then he probably will—then the GOP members of Congress who are up in 2020 will either have to hitch their wagon to a stinker of an issue, or else will have to take sides against Trump.

If anybody can figure out the thinking on that, please share. Obamacare is polling something like 50%-30% approval and Republican candidates in the mid-terms had to just plain lie about supporting it to try and save their asses. And now they want to overturn it with nothing to replace it again. Makes no sense. Ideology over common sense? Short term over long term? Something I'm missing?

I thought for a minute that they could be counting on people's short memories but repealing it now would give people a good year of sticker shock and cancellations - especially when the Republican base is of the age to feel it more than anyone else. Makes no sense, but I think I already said that.

I think, in lieu: of the ACA, the Trump administration wants to award the states large medical care block
grants and the states could run their own medical care as they see fit, instead of the federal government
being involved, anyone? (No pre-existing medical conditions would be eliminated from the program)

I think this is another situation where trump is leading the Republicans to a place they don't want to go.
