Interesting polling on electing a gay president: 70% of Americans, including 46% of Republicans, say they'd be "open to electing a gay man president" but only 36%, including only 43% of Democrats, think "the country is ready to elect" one.
Bob says he'd vote for one but he doesn't think Joe down the street would; Joe says he'd do it but he doesn't think Bob would. We seem to be more ready than we think we are. But 30% is still a sizable discount on that - and you gotta know they'd be pretty damn vocal about it.
