I don't like Sessions at all but it pisses me off that the President of the United States and his opponents are all but calling him un-American for doing what he was legally bound to do.

Yeah, but if the president is going to make an ass out of himself attacking someone I prefer it's a Republican that's the target.

just makes you wonder how long they'll take it

Sessions not only takes it, he rolls over and shouts "Thank you sir may I have another"

Top surrogates and allies of Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are discussing ways for their two camps to unite and push a common liberal agenda, with the expectation that Warren is likely to leave the presidential campaign soon, according to two people familiar with the talks.

Warren associates and the camp of former vice president Joe Biden also had talks about a potential endorsement if she drops out, according to two people familiar with the conversations.

...after Warren's bleak performance in the Super Tuesday primaries, her associates, as well as those of Sanders and Biden, say she is now looking for the best way to step aside. There is no certainty she will endorse Sanders or anyone else, but the talks reflect the growing pressure on the senator from Massachusetts to withdraw.

On Liz Warren from NYT

“This is one of the vexing realities that plague highly accomplished female candidates like Ms. Warren or Hillary Clinton, women whose résumés outstrip those of many of their male rivals. They have been told their whole lives that they have to outwork and outperform the men in order to be taken seriously — only to discover that it’s not enough.”

Will this give Tulsi Gabbard a boost? Will Gabbard be the only non-male, non-white and the only veteran at the next debate? I don't think many saw this coming. #-o

Tulsi's even less relevant than Bill Weld.

I think I'd be insulted if I were Warren. Hillary's very accomplished but she was a lousy candidate. Warren's less accomplished but she was a great candidate. Unfortunately for her, half of Bernie's supporters are holdovers from 2016 and some of the others just preferred the old grumpy guy over her. And the other half of the party didn't agree with either of them - myself included. I like Warren a lot and I hope she goes on to do great things, but I voted for the moderate.

If she were a man she would have been the front runner. She was more moderate than Bernie.

Bernie, who's not passed anything, 'support Castro', be pushing 80 with a heart attack under his belt and still be a front runner.

Face it, if Liz were the nominee all Trump would have to do is strike the threat of terrorism or war and she's done. Unless a woman was Lt Col or above with years of combat experience, a reality show clown who dodged the draft and zero military background will beat her. As will an 80 year old heart attack victim would.

The man will always exemplify the strength over a woman of twice his fortitude, intelligence and experience. I wish America would get past this.

I'll give you that one but I don't know that I'd have a lot of faith in Bernie in that situation, either.

But from what I've seen, when somebody blames sexism, both in politics and in the workplace, 9 times out of 10 there's another reason.

Like what?

I'm not seeing where Bernie is more qualified than Liz.

I don't think he is more qualified, but taking out his head start, when you have two people occupying the far-left space it basically becomes a personality contest and people preferred the grumpy guy. Or maybe they preferred the socialist. Who knows. But I bet if Warren had campaigned on opt-in Medicare and student debt restructuring instead of forgiveness, she could very well have been in Biden's position right now. I'd even venture a guess that being a woman would have helped her if she were more of a moderate. For every conscious or unconscious sexist man, there's probably an equally sexist woman and there's a lot of moderate-liberal and anti-Trump women.

Though I agree that she could have separated herself from the MFA and free college gig, that pretty much described Klobuchar - which didn't seem to help her.

Bottom line, I wish I could have voted for who I wanted rather than who I thought could beat Trump.

Also brand awareness. Bernie had a 4 year jump on that, too. With the voters and the press. You can convince people that Arm & Hammer is better but they'll still buy Tide.

Shifty, if it's any consolation I think the Republican to beat for the 2024 nomination is Nikki Haley. If she plays her cards right between now and then she could be very tough to beat in the general as well

Meh.. I’d rather she be a democrat. I’m about 98% sure either Bernie or Joe would pick a female VP. So there’s a start. But still... ‘they couldn’t do it on their own, they got in by the coattails of a man’ is just less pure.
We’re still in the dark ages. It’s so disappointing.

For Shifty. Seems you're right, at least on the Bernie Bro side. I guess the extremes on both sides are littered with jerks.
