We know that Washington used federal troops to collect taxes.

They would be okay with it.
They told me if I voted for Hillary Clinton the president would be emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable. They were right. I voted for Hillary Clinton and got a president that is emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable.

that was an answer to my Jefferson question?

you think Washington would be ok with our current tax rates? you think he'd sign off on an income tax? what was the tax he used federal troops to collect for?

I'm trying to understand your point in relation to my Jefferson question

if you are trying to say our forefathers would support our current taxation after fighting against the English to secure our sovereignty, please rethink it - that is laughable

well I'm outta here until we know lots more about the election, though it may be a fight for weeks....months?

if Trump comes out on top, it's time to pay more close attention to the Trafalgar pollsters - I think they are the only one predicting a victory for him, and after their last election stunner prediction, that definitely gives them some street cred

if......

Final thoughts before I try to get some sleep.........

Georgia, Florida and North Carolina- Florida to see if Trump's outreach to Latino pays off, Big Atlanta and suburbs surge for Biden, Warnock and Ossoff. Georgia Dem's think they got a raw deal with Stacy Abrams.

Rust Belt- Does the good Iowa poll for Trump so a late surge to help him overcome the numbers in Wisconsin and Michigan. Biden is strong in Ohio and Pennsylvania is a toss up. Trump camp thinks they have made some gains with Black men.

Texas, Arizona- Same dynamics as Florida and Georgia. Democrats are pissed about GOP shenanigans. Kelly is outpacing Biden in Arizona.

P/S- Biden upset win in Montana. Bullock is running strong.

Hard to say since he has been dead for some time.

Does not matter. What matters is that he had no problem using federal military troops to collect taxes. Leading them part of the way.

That episode was taught in my freshman history class in college.

Reinforcing my point about support for Trump and education level being inversely related.

Have a good evening.

Meh, your comparison is amorphous at best. Did people in the movie depend on the Blob for services, support and protection when they weren't criticizing it?

What do you think, say, a Thomas Jefferson, would have to say about of our current taxation, our current government intrusion, Omar?

If we're going to play 'pick random people out of the distant past who agree with our outlooks' there are plenty to choose from on all sides...what would that prove?

The appeal is only challenging drive-thru voting on election day. Good news but I don't understand the point.

The president has already stated his strategy is to get lawyers involved in certain states to shut down the counting of mailed in ballots. That is what someone does when they know an ass whooping is coming.

The GOP is showing more and more by the day how much they hate democracy.

Biden winning in NC, OH and T-T-T-Texas. by 1.3% with 60% counted. It's early but it looks mighty strange to see Texas colored in blue.

And Laura Loomer loses her Florida House race.

For what it's worth. Ed Henry thinks Trump will lose all the states in the Rust Belt, including Ohio.
