Fave Olympic Sport

Liliana Fernandez of Spain has converted me. Women's Beach Volleyball is my all-time favorite Olympic sport. WOW!

I watched the woman's steeplechase earlier today.. Gotta admit it's pretty lame. They jump over a steeple into water then run around the track jumping over randomly (or strategically) placed steeples. Whats the point? No horses involved. Running with wet shoes would give me blisters

Women's Beach Volleyball.

I am constantly amazed at the athletic ability of these women.
They told me if I voted for Hillary Clinton the president would be emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable. They were right. I voted for Hillary Clinton and got a president that is emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable.

Swimming, triathlon, and cycling.

can't watch women's gymnastics. kinda creepy looking at 17 year olds who look like 10 year olds and sound like one of the Lollipop Guild. just what kind of scientific experimenting is going on when you have groups of young women who appear to have had their growth stunted? really bizaare...

I enjoy watching women's gymnastic's, don't like listening to them talk (they sound like they just inhaled helium), my son's ex-girlfriend's aunt is Cathy Rigby ('72 olympics), she doesn't sound like that.

Men's volleyball is might fine too.

The Women's soccer game against Canada was one of the most exciting soccer games I have watched in years. What an ending!
Liberalism is like an out-of-control 5 year old at McDonalds. All the talking to and admonishment won't make a difference. They have no concept of right or wrong, they are nothing more than narcissists.

Team handball's cool. Sort of a cross between soccer, basketball and hockey. Intense game.
Don't look at me, I just work here.

I know you are joking SoMelo, but in all seriousness, it sure would be cool if we began to support these every four year sports year round. The work that many of these athletes put in year round without the millions in their pockets is amazing.

I'm finding I don't have a great deal of interest in these Olympics.

In all seriousness, I never heard or seen this sport before, however, It does bear a strong resemblance to Calvin Ball which both my kids are very good at. \:D/

Maybe that's partly because so many of the sports in the Olympics aren't really sports. For example, any competition in which someone in their 60's or 70's can still compete at a world-class level, like archery and shooting, aren't really sports. They require no athleticism whatsovever.

And awarding athletic medals to those twerps that run around twirling those long ribbons is an embarrassment to the entire human race.

As athletic and as hard-working as most of the synchronized 'anything' participants are...what's the point? Diving has also become a labor to watch/

One thing that is obvious. We are seeing the full impact of Title IX.

Athletic and muscular women are no longer being considered unfeminine.

That is a good thing.

SoMelo, I must give you a BIG F when it comes to Olympic knowledge. Team Handball was a demostration sport during the 1984 Games, which means it outlasted BASEBALL as an Olympic Sport! The sport was also held in Orange County during the '84 games in the Cal State Fullerton gym.

PS, your kids are great guys and good college students, but I would not go to far and try to brand them as Olympic Athletes in any sport!
