Oh Canada!

Post by Hanna » Mon Feb 22, 2010 9:35 pm

Just watched the ice dancing and the Canadian couple danced flawlessly.

Yes, I know, I am not in a position to judge all the jumping and turning and skating but, really, that Canadian couple was really great.

And, yes, they won the gold.

Men's Hockey blew it to The U.S. Sunday night and the women's hockey teams go at it tonight (US and Canada). I hear Mens' Hockey team hasn't beaten the Canadians in, like, 50 years or some such.

We look to play either Switzerland or Belarus in the Quarter Finals (Hockey) I think Wednesday night ... maybe Thursday.

I've always liked Canada's National Anthem - besides ours, I think it's the coolest.

Ok, so the singing was a little "pitchy", but it's still a cool anthem.

IOC to probe celebrations by women's hockey team VANCOUVER (AP) -- The women of the Canadian hockey team politely accepted their gold medals and waved to an adoring crowd.

And then the real celebration began.

More than half an hour after they beat the United States 2-0 on Thursday, the players came back from the locker room and staged a party on ice -- swigging from bottles of champagne, guzzling beer and smoking cigars.

In a sport that Canada invented, there was never an option besides gold, and with it finally in hand, the home team let loose.

So do I. It's a cool song, it's in English, and it's much easier to sing than ours.

Did anyone catch the opening ceremony where they listed the population of each country?

Canada's population is around 30 million... that's a few million less than California's population.

eeesh

~~

SoMelo, is there a way to reduce the size of your sig? That's a bit large and annoying as hell to have to scroll past.
