Another black eye for Indy Cars

Post by crayegg » Sun Jun 03, 2012 7:00 pm

After the death of Dan Wheldon at the last race in Texas last year, Indy cars had a make over that made them more like go carts than open wheel race cars.

They manged to pull off the Indy 500 with a competitive race.

Now we get to Michigan and the track disintegrates, reminiscent of Daytona a couple years ago, but much worse.

I DVR'd the race with an extra hour for problems. Not even close to enough. It's an open question whether Indy cars can survive this latest catastrophe.

Formula One is top dog. See ya in Texas (Hopefully). And maybe New Jersey ...

F1 races all around the world still pique my interest.

I don't mind the fenders. Open wheels are really pretty crazy at those speeds. But the IRL and CART have both been working at making themselves irrelevant for the last 20 years or so. It's a shame because they owned the sport at one time, at least in this country.

Gotta get a DVR one of these days. I don't think I've seen a F1 race in over a year. I wish the Speed Channel showed replays.
Don't look at me, I just work here.

Speed channel has been doing that the last few races (god bless their hearts).

Dude, how can you live without a DVR?

I remember a couple years ago setting my alarm to OhDark thirty to watch the F1 race.

Get with the system, my friend...
