I love them and actually spent some time with them back in the day but I'm a bit suprised that
Eric B. and Rakim are on the list..

Sounds like they're going by how many records they sold, rather than by their contributions. Guns "N" Roses, Joan Jett, Heart, Rufus, The Spinners and Donna Summers, like them or not, were all pretty ordinary.

Who else are they going to induct JQP?

The Rock and Roll hall of fame is a joke anyway.

Really? How many records did Small Faces and Laura Nyro sell?

Rush has 24 gold records, 14 platinum records and seven Top-10 albums. They should have been in the Hall years ago, yet they're not even nominated. For that matter, Yes is being snubbed, too.

I feel that if the Hall is reaching beyond rock and roll to pop (Summer) & urban music (Eric B. and Rakim), then Hall & Oates should be in as well. The Spinners opened for them at the Hollywood Bowl a few years ago. They've sold more records than Summer and they at least wrote most of their own songs and play their own instruments.

The Hall of Fame is a joke; it's clear that they're now resorting to making PC decisions in an attempt to please women and minorities. Next thing you know, they'll be inducting Irakere and Los Tigres del Norte.

As a band they sold a good amount. As individuals, including their session players and roadies, more than all the others combined.

She had a hit or two in the '60s but her biggest contribution was as a song writer. I'm sure she's lived very well on her royalties.
