I think they have equal rights under law, but to say that women and men are equivalent is silly.

This is personal but have you been stimulated using the male G-spot, it makes sense far more pleasurable than simply doing it normally, although the male body was ridiculously created with the G-spot there so stimulating both is quite the task and quite inefficient. If I was an all powerful, all knowing God I think I would have made that far easier and better to do. Sin had nothing to do with that, that was His intent/creation. Also God made knees quite weak in comparison to the rest of the body, something that's always puzzled me as to why make something so important so fragile and easily hurt.
As far as the weather goes, this conflicts with science with how the Earth was formed. I can't really argue and I fear we would get nowhere arguing this. You believe in creationism whereas I believe in evolution. There's little we can do to change either of our opinions, although I'm surprised that if the Bible were true why it didn't really explain that. I understand it's not a biology book, but to get something as big as creation, you would think the evidence would point to what is said in the Bible about the creation of the universe/earth.
I agree wie will accomplsh little arguing this back and forth: Both arguments are well-known and I doubt either of us can add anything new enough to the conversation that the other one of us will think "HEEEEYYYYY, that's a game-changer."
I do believe, as I've stated before, that you're looking through the wrong end of the telescope thinking "I wouldn't have made everything so small" when, in fact, God made everything exactly as it should have been made ... which we would understand (if only in part) if we would step back from the telescope completely.

Like you said, it depends on how you're using "equal."
I don't view women in a subservient, subjective way in Scripture: God extends salvation to both genders and His salvation is available to both.
The society into which Scriptures were interjected (the BC's and early AD's) were quite patriarchal and some of that DID find its way into Scripture because of who was writing and to whom they were writing. But God's treatment of women and men has been equivalent.

Talk about being silly...are you speaking of physical differences, because other than that, and other than the way women are mistreated in many parts of the world, the two are equally equivalent in my mind.
Find a definition that fits my belief, and that's the one I use. Which one do you use? Perhaps you could convince me how women are not equal to men except for the obvious physical differences.

If we're going to hell for being sinful or not following scripture we'll be in the company of a lot of biblical figures.
For example (this was sent to me by a far more spiritual friend):
1) Noah had a drinking problem
2) Abraham was a liar and a compromiser of his wife (he passed this legacy down to his children — not much of a father in that regard)
3) Judah had that shameful episode with Tamar . . . if there is a page we censor from our nine and ten year old it is usually this one
4) Moses was a murderer
5) Aaron made Idols on the side
6) Gideon tested God (repeatedly)
7) Jephthah did the unthinkable to his daughter
8 ) Samson — well I wouldn't let my daughter be caught dead with him
9) David, the man after God's own heart — called "the shepherd of my people", broke every law in the book save the Sabbath commandment (and the text is simply silent on that) — he abused his power, he lusted, committed adultery, committed murder of his loyal subject, he lied and on I could go.
10) Hezekiah and Uzziah are shown to be men with feet of clay
11) Manasseh, the practitioner of magic, witchcraft, murderer of his own son in a pagan ceremony is made by God ruler of his people (2 Chr. 33.1-20)
12) Hosea had an adulterous wife and a horrendous family life
13) Jonah — what more needs to be said?
14) Matthew had a "reputation" for he was a nasty taxcollector
15) Peter denied, publicly, of any knowledge of Jesus, he goofed in Antioch
16) Paul was a blasphemer, murderer, and certainly had a "reputation"

Just a couple of observations:
This is just more clear evidence that you have no idea what you're talking about, to wit: IF everyone who sins goes to Hell, NO ONE would be going to Heaven since "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" -Romans 3:23. Individuals who sin AND do not turn to God for redemption and salvation are the only ones destined for Hell.
It is appropriate internet protocol, and keeps JQP from having to battle copyright infringement lawsuits, to post a link to the original author when you've pirated another person's work (such as your list).
The originator of that list, was using it to EXPLAIN that God has used ordinary folks to accomplish his purposes. But what you get when you abuse just a snippet, out of context like you did, is something you used for quite the opposite purpose: To denigrate church patriarchs (which was neither God's nor the author's intent).
In fact, that those men had such sin issues should give someone like you (and me and everyone) hope that whatever it is we've done, God is able to reach through it and give us Salvation...

So you believe that men and women think in the same manner? Just trying to clarify, so that I might understand where you are coming from.
My assertion is that they are equal under the law, but are in fact very different than men.

I'm working from the concept of equality for all people. "Different" is an altogether different notion. What does thinking differently have to do with equality? It's very simple....except for some obvious physical characteristics and abilities men and women are equal...down the line....equal. That's my belief.

Equal means the same to me. Men and women are clearly not the same. If you review the definition of equal on line, I am sure that there are a few clauses that would fit your working definition. However, I did note that you are already backing away from your first assertoin that the only differences were physical characteristics. You have now expanded it to abilities. What abilities are you referring to? Driving a car? Walking and chewing gum?

So black people aren't equal to white people then right?

Those that require significantly different physical cababilities. I thought the explanation was pretty clear, but I really can't add much more despite your admonitions I am backing away from something I'm not backing away from. I'm neither titillated enough in the topic to wade through endless offerings of proof demands that what I believe is what I believe, nor do I care to play a game of semantic tag.
How about you? Could you list those areas in which women are not equal to men? Please, cut to the chase and enlighten us.

Seriously, who gives a flying crap what the bible says about sex? The bible was written by (miserable) mortal men to benefit themselves. They make God out to be a frickin' bully, he nor Jesus would survive around here.

You might have been reading the Qu'ran or something, but your assessment of the (real) Bible is way, WAY off.
