De La Salle Vs Servite

Post by rvoltes5 » Sun Sep 29, 2013 9:47 pm

I keep hearing rumors the this De La Salle squad is not the power house it once was? Yeah right...they're undefeated. This should be a good one.

Anyone know if this one will televised or streamlined? My daughter has a game the same night as the Servite game. Trust me I will not hear the end of it if I skipped my daughter's game. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

It looks like it will be streamed on NFHS network

http://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/69731

Only downside is that its a pay site, but it looks like you can do a day pass for $6.95

I will take a guess at the final score. DLS 35 / Servite 21. IMO it will depend on if DLS front line can get penetration and get to Servite's QB. This game will have a major + or - for Servite going into Trinity.

Servite in the bowl is a good move. It will be LOUDER than DLS has ever seen, and should be an advantage to Servite. Can't wait, but makes the start of Trinity a little scary (6 tough games coming and no breaks). I bet Servite opens it up a little more and there are a couple of break out athletes that haven't been recognized yet. Two weeks prep better have included film on MD, since that is the game that counts!

Tenacious,

I agree with your last sentence, and, according to Eric Sondheimer, so does Coach Gass.

"Servite (3-1) used its bye week to work more on fixing issues in preparation for the Trinity League next week but the Friars have begun to focus on De La Salle."

I think this game is important for Servite from a confidence standpoint. DLS is one of the best and baddest teams in the country. Win, lose or draw, if Servite can competes and competes well, that serves as a measuring stick for their team.

I've said since passing league when most people were mocking....this team can compete with anyone. Well this is the best "anyone" in the state, so we'll see how they do. I already got my tickets. Can't wait 'til Saturday.

I'm sort of surprised DLS supporters have not come over from the CalHI boards to have their say, it
seems they are lying low and keeping quiet, I would be concerned that all the negative posts are now in
the DLS locker room, not good, no?

I'd be surprised if a team the caliber of DLS relied on the opinions of a couple Orange County yokels for motivation.

I hope Servite wins...Then they come to Anaheim Stadium with swagger...Cause MD is going to light them up...The smack talk and lack of respect from the peanut gallery is not lost...Our common opponent has given you guys hope to put down the hated Monarchs...Great...Let's get it on...Best of luck Friars...See you at the Big A

Ultimately, Servite will not be physical enough to beat DLS.

Well, I'm glad our neighbors up north gave us some compliments. Don't know if they got the right scouting report about our QB though...hehe

If Pittman comes back to play, I'm changing my prediction.

The common opponent logic rarely holds water in any sport at any level.
The Edison team that played Servite was a different team than that which showed up last week vs. MD. That's the nature of football at any level, especially HS.

But DLS is a machine, that operates with robotic-like precision, unmatched discipline and unrelenting physicality.

De La Salle AND Mater Dei will boat-race Servite and the proverbial bubble will be burst. Then they have to face the rest of the Trinity with egos and bodies bruised. Servite will struggle mightily to make the playoffs.

DLS 41
Ser 10

MD 35
Ser 13

Book it!

So you think if Edison played the way they did against MD, they would beat Servite?

How the heck did Edishun get in this? They lost to MD and Servite already. Get over it. Geeez.

Now, for the game before THE game: DLS O-Line is still one heck of a unit. it all starts there.

Assuming no game changing turnovers, DLS 42, Servite 21. DLS is a machine and I never pick against them. Its a fun game to go watch but league is what matters. Too early for prediction on Mater Dei-Servite but MD didn't look like they could score a lot of points on a decent defense.
