Benkert to Simi Valley
Thousand Oaks Acorn reports that Jim Benkert, forced out at Oaks Christian after winning CIF-SS-DII championship, to be named head coach at Simi Valley.
Simi has been poor in football for many years (although they have a famous ex-player in Tom Herman, coach of the Texas Longhorns)- if he can win there he's a certifiable coaching genius.

Re: Benkert to Simi Valley
Benkert could be sitting on a goldmine there. He'll be coaching 50 sons of the LAPD every year.
Those kids will come in already trained on how to: chase and tackle; capitalize on schematic (and systematic) advantages; punish opponents with brutal force; use their hands as weapons; work as a unit to accomplish their goals by any means necessary.

Re: Benkert to Simi Valley
Read that over it's 70 year history of football Simi Valley has averaged less than 3 wins per season.
Think Calabasas may have actually been worse before Clausen got there.
Benkert starts in Division 7-depending on enrollment policies expect they will improve rather quickly.

Can't have helped that all the local pre-game meal spots only serve donuts.
