Democrat debate 2.1

Postby Tommy Tar » Wed Jul 31, 2019 8:07 am

Did you watch last nights debate?

IMO how they did.

1. Tie. Sanders and Warren
3. Delaney
4. Tie. Williamson and Mayor Pete.

Delaney being from Ohio looks good as a VP pick.

The rest need to quit and go home.

Yup. Past time to thin the field.

I didn't watch but it sounds like Williamson did especially well. Crazy.

And I still don't agree with her but I still think Warren is the most "important" candidate. She still doesn't poll well against Trump but she has an idea for everything, she's a strong campaigner, she seems to actually care more than the others, and above all, she's Positive with a capital "P". That's really nice to see.

I won't bother till there are about five candidates.
They told me if I voted for Hillary Clinton the president would be emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable. They were right. I voted for Hillary Clinton and got a president that is emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable.

Boot-edge-edge

“[This is] the conversation that we have been having for the last 20 years. Of course, we need to get money out of politics, but when I propose the actual structural democratic reforms that might make a difference — end the Electoral College, amend the Constitution if necessary to clear up Citizens United, have DC actually be a state, and depoliticize the Supreme Court with structural reform — people look at me funny, as if this country was incapable of structural reform.

This is a country that once changed its Constitution so you couldn’t drink and changed it back because we changed our minds, and you’re telling me we can’t reform our democracy in our time. We have to or we will be having the same argument 20 years from now.”

Sounds to me like Trump won tonight's debate.

After Kamala hit Joe on busing, they all had a oppo research line to use on each other. Warren had the best performance, of the two nights.

1. Tulsi Gabbard
2. Jay Inslee
3. Cory Booker
A lot of police bashing last night.

Warren, Booker, Harris, have the best chance to hold the diversity of the party together. In the end the party might be too diverse to beat Trump.

I’m intrigued by Andrew Yang. His stand alone issue of a UBI is interesting - for a math guy.

I really liked Inslee, too.
For the first time Kamala made me cringe, she showed she could get a little rattled and it’s still early.

I’m still on team Pete. The guy is unflappable, poised and brilliant. Though I don’t think black people are as accepting of him. But he could cut Trump to shreds and Trump wouldn’t even know he’s bleeding.

When Trump has his rally tonight is he going to get into the weeds about policy? Brags, boost, insults, spin, chants, lies and falsehoods. Lots of passion and energy. Which Dem' is going to punch back? Which Dem' is going to punch first? Ask me a question, I'm going after Trump.... :steam:

They can't attack Uncle Joe without dumping on President Obama. A very fine line and the MSM is not happy.

One of the great propaganda victories in modern American politics has been the right's ability to cast the Clintons and Obama as leftists. They were about as centrist as it gets.

But that phony bill of goods was sold to baby boomers and the greatest generation. Gen X and later hasn't bought into that turdburger, and they cast more voted in the 2018 election than those older generations. Half of those 20 Democrats are in those younger generations.

"Demcrats?" Did someone from Missippi write the headline on that video?

Obama would wipe the floor with all twenty-whatever of them if he were eligible to run again. Attacking somebody as popular with the voters as he is should be an automatic DQ for stupidity.

Democrats these days really aren't any brighter than the Republicans.

PTG, I haven't read a more idiotic screed in quite some time.

BTW, the word is spelled "borders". Also, it's your party that resembles the National Socialist Party...they were known more informally as Nazis.

Pro tip for PTG - Lies and exaggerations don't help your argument. Wednesday's debate was a circular firing squad but the rest of your points are either "Mostly False" or "Pants on Fire." What's the point of that besides making it look like you don't know what you're talking about?
