The dirty thing about this is Bosco only gave MD 1500 tickets for the game (which is ok) However, these tickets were supposed to be available to MD people only through a special link provided to only MDHS. Here's the dirty s**t Bosco, released MD's tickets on Bosco's twitter feed while MD was actually playing the game against Santa Margarita, as a result those tickets were scooped up by Bosco people and the general public and a ton of parents did not get tickets and can not go to the game and see their kids play. Tickets were sold out early Saturday morning for the game before most MD parents ever even received the link to purchase tickets. Bosco's AD ol' Monty McDermott has been asked to move the game and his response was of course NO! With the explanation "the game is about the kids not the parents and fans and the kids want to play in their home stadium. Well of course they do genius but when you clearly make such an cataclysmic error creating a problem where parents can't see their kids play you should fix it. But then again that would defeat the entire purpose of making sure the stadium was filled with Bosco people only. It's all good Bosco continually does the wrong thing and is surprised when things never really work out for them. But then again you can always just ask coach ALL CAPS to get you on the field, oh wait he's on suspension, never mind..... I guess you will have to buy a ticket for $300 on the secondary market.

Ah, a bit of drama added to what's sure to be an already incredibly competitive event. MD and their fans feeling they've been okeydoked on ticket availability, Bosco Nation refusing to move the game from their on-campus stadium, cheap tricks, whiny fans, porta potties, Sondheimer complaining about having to pay for parking, Face book and twitter accounts electric with entertaining banter ( being kind here ) between fans and parents... Hope the game lives up to the bluster...

The tickets are a cluster**** Some kids at MD I know were told they needed tickets since it's a TV game. --:--

Really, this should have been played at Cerritos or a larger venue to accommodate the crowd.

Apparently the “move the game to a bigger venue” talk wasn’t restricted to this thread ...

(And my personal favorite ...)

I doubt all the MD parents pay attention to our threads here but I tried to let everyone know about Bosco’s ticket shenanigans on Friday night lol ...

The hype is at fever pitch, UNPRECEDENTED LEVELS LOL

This MD-Bosco ticket story has gone national:

“The ticket seller’s location is listed as Monrovia, Calif., and the listing includes a photo of Mater Dei and St. John Bosco preparing to face off, though it does not include any image of the actual ticket itself.

As for the price, yes, the seller is asking for $200 to get in to a high school football game.

“Is this heaven?” No, it’s Southern California, and a pretty tight facility around an elite Catholic school at that. The competition may be as good as it gets this year, but the fight for parking should be as well.

As of 2:20 pm ET the ticket was still available, so if you’re going to be in the area, want to see some high school football on Friday night and are determined to see the best, well, the time is now to part with a couple Benjamin Franklins, sit back and get ready for what is likely to be the game of the year.”

I don’t know anyone who is driving all the way to Monrovia to pick up an MD-SJB ticket for A COUPLE BENJAMINS lol

No matter what the Bosco brass said about the "kids wanting to play on their own field" it boiled down to the money SJB was going to make on the event, tickets, parking and concessions and not having to rent a venue.

Bosco has every "right" to control the seats as it is THEIR stadium, it's just not the best idea.

Why not give the fans a truly great game where a good 10,000 can show up.

If you are the better team you will win, the home field thing at this level is over rated.

The home field "may affect" the refs, other than that, the best team will win, and besides these 2 will be playing for all the marbles later anyway on a neutral field.

MD should win no matter who they are playing in front of. Bosco should show a little class and move it, but probably too late.

They've sold on craigslist the last two years, that's the reason for the reference. But you knew that... you know everything.

Speaking of references, you seem to be obsessed with making half-witted comments on everything I post while contributing nothing here. Living in your head rent-free would be more appealing if it wasn’t so empty and abandoned.

USA Today:
