They told me if I voted for Hillary Clinton the president would be emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable. They were right. I voted for Hillary Clinton and got a president that is emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable.

I'm kind of wondering if it might be wise for Republicans to abandon ship before Pence gets pulled in any further.

“Everyone was in the loop.”

“We followed the president’s orders.”

“Was there a quid pro quo? The answer is yes.”

Even the Maytag repairman can't spin that

I think Chairman Schiff has been doing a great job so far, his questions and his closing comments are really right on point. If you didn't have time to watch today, this 13 minute summation says it all.

LOL. Anyone want to tell the House Republicans that that sign doesn't say what they think it says?

From the "Chief White House Correspondent" from OANN, Donald's new favorite network. Ignorant on more than a few levels.

“ … some of you appear to believe that Russia and its security services did not conduct a campaign against our country—and that perhaps, somehow, for some reason, Ukraine did. This is a fictional narrative that has been perpetrated and propagated by the Russian security services themselves.” - Dr. Fiona Hill

Still not sure if they realize this in their partisan heart of heats or if they're really as dumb as the Russians thought they were...Trump I know is that dumb.

That pretty much sums up the amount of brainpower among the GOP in the room

Schiff right on target again with his closing remarks:

“Where is Howard Baker?” (GOP Senator famous for asking “What did the president know, and when did he know it?”) Only three Republicans were still present when Schiff asked that question...smh

“What we’ve seen here is far more serious than a third-rate burglary of the Democratic headquarters,” Schiff said. “The difference between then and now is not the difference between Nixon and Trump. It’s the difference between that Congress and this one.”

Two different world views on display. One group looking and searching for fact, another demanding loyalty. Fact based arguments are not going to move the GOP towards impeachment or off the Trump train in 2020..

It's exactly like the man said, he could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and he wouldn’t lose any voters.

It's a cult of personality. No matter what he did or does it won't change a thing with his 35% base.

The rest of his republican support isn't mindless, just opportunist.

Reality check:

No, the true believers might not be convinced. But this was only an open grand jury hearing, as it were. They don't have to be convinced at this point.

Congress might or might not have concluded their testimonies. The next step would be bringing or not bringing Articles of Impeachment and the full House voting on them. On a party-line vote.

Then it will go to the "trial" that Republicans have been pretending just took place. I assume they will be able to call whatever witnesses they want, no? What role will Chief Justice Roberts play in that and will he allow them to call the whistle blower? I have a feeling this might get even more interesting.
