Russian military tactics are being used to influence USA midterm elections. WTF??

Which group in the US is being targeted?

Hint: Their mascot is an elephant.

The ISW is reporting;
Russian President Vladimir Putin passed a decree on October 19 seeking to address Russian military personnels’ ongoing concerns about timely payments and setting the blame on Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov for future payment issues.
ISW 10-19-22

Reminds me of the six stages of a project.

1. Enthusiasm
2. Disillusionment
3. Panic
4. Search for the guilty
5. Punishment of the innocent
6. Reward of the non-participants.

I saw a clip of a small exchange of bullets between Ukrainian and Russian troops on BBC News last night. I couldn't help but notice that the Russians were firing on semi-auto. Conserving ammo or defective guns?

I am thinking our fighting men and women have just a bit too much time on their hands.

Joseph Stalin once said that, "in the Soviet Army, it takes more courage to retreat than to advance."

Besides retaking Kherson and all of the roads leading to Odessa, Ukraine is now right across the river from the canal that provides most of Crimea's drinking water.

Yuge.

The NY Post is reporting;
A high-ranking Russian army colonel with ties to Vladimir Putin’s mobilization efforts for the war in Ukraine died under mysterious circumstances this week.

Col. Vadim Boyko was found dead in his office at Makarov Pacific Higher Naval School on Wednesday, local news reported.

Early media coverage, including a Telegram post by the Far Eastern Gazette, described the incident as a suicide. “[Boyko] came to work and put a bullet in his temple,” the initial post read.

A similar post from BAZA — an outlet with ties to law enforcement — questioned the suicide scenario, noting that witnesses heard five shots coming from Boyko’s office.

“The duty officer, who heard the shooting, ran to the place and saw Boyko’s body — the colonel was dead,” BAZA recounted. “The man did not leave a suicide note. At the place of his death, criminalists found five cartridge cases and four Makarov pistols.

“Local media report that it was suicide, but then it turns out that the colonel shot himself in the chest five times.”
Committing suicide by shooting one's self in the chest five times? If that is what happened. I will never question his committment.

Statistic O'the Day: The US has spent 5.6% of its annual military budget to wipe out nearly half of Russia's conventional forces.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable in Russian history can weigh in. Wasn't the mutiny against the military leadership during WW I (for similar reasons) the beginning of the end for the Czar?

That did not end well for the Romanovs.
