Re: What's next for Iran?
Actually I can see an advantage to keeping the deal that, at least in theory, delays the nukes 15 years. But it requires us to totally destroy N Korea's capabilities, before we have to deal with both NK and Iran at the same time.

Re: What's next for Iran?
Can we finish one war before we start another? How do all those fiscal conservatives recommend we pay for another foreign adventure?
When it comes to things like infrastructure there is hand wringing about the budget, debt, and deficits.
Yet when it comes to fighting another war (which if history is any guide we pay for almost the next hundred years) there is another national credit card to be flattened out.

Stay loose, and be a little afraid.

During the Cold War when the USA and the USSR reached an agreement the hardliners believed the Soviets were going to break or cheat on the deal simply because they were Soviets. Today, all these agreements based and cooperation with secular Europeans, Muslims, Asians, the "world", and the "other" are going to fail because these people can't be trusted.

Re: What's next for Iran?
I rescind my analysis. Now it sounds like somebody else (Bannon? Some "analyst" on Faux "News"? Netanyahoo?) made some wild-assed claim and Donald believes it. So he's asked the intelligence community to look into it. And if history is any guide, when they tell him it's a bunch of hooey he won't believe them. Hang onto your hats, folks.

Re: What's next for Iran?
The disputes are over military sites. The US says they could be cheating there, but Iran denies that, and says inspections there would violate their sovereignty.
The Parchin military complex outside Tehran is of particular interest. Iran denied inspectors access to Parchin for years, then finally granted access in 2015 after undertaking extensive construction work at the site, according to satellite imagery studied by the IAEA. Before the nuclear deal was approved, the IAEA agreed to accept limited access to Parchin in the future and to allow Iranian personnel — not the agency’s own inspectors — to collect environmental samples at the facility for testing. WTF???
“The lack of ongoing access to Parchin calls into question the adequacy of the verification of the [nuclear deal] and the deal’s long-term utility to deter Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons,” the report said.
Some analysts believe Iran would be willing to compromise to avoid having the U.S. impose additional restrictions on its struggling economy.

We need a war in Iran so we can use trucks instead of airplanes to transport our troops and materials to and from our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan

It is all lining up
Rudy Giuliani pushed for regime change in Iran on Saturday, saying President Donald Trump is "as committed to regime change as we are."
It's "the only way to peace in the Middle East" and "more important than an Israeli-Palestinian deal,"
At one point in his speech, Giuliani, who has served as an informal adviser to Trump and had been under consideration to be his secretary of state, pretended that his notes were the Iran nuclear deal, ripping .
https://www.politico.com/story/2018/05/ ... nge-570744
1. Public statements by Bibi claiming Iran is cheating on the nuclear deal....
2. Press release by the White House claiming Iran still has a covert nuclear program (later corrected)
3. Trump pulls out of the deal over the objections of France, Great Britain and Germany. ...
I've seen this movie before.

Re: What's next for Iran?
The next time you hear Trump bleating about a "phony investigation" and a "witch hunt"...
Trump Team Hired Spy Firm For 'Dirty Ops' On Iran Arms Deal
Aides to Donald Trump, the US president, hired an Israeli private intelligence agency to orchestrate a “dirty ops” campaign against key individuals from the Obama administration who helped negotiate the Iran nuclear deal, the Observer can reveal.
People in the Trump camp contacted private investigators in May last year to “get dirt” on Ben Rhodes, who had been one of Barack Obama’s top national security advisers, and Colin Kahl, deputy assistant to Obama, as part of an elaborate attempt to discredit the deal.
According to incendiary documents seen by the Observer, investigators contracted by the private intelligence agency were told to dig into the personal lives and political careers of Rhodes, a former deputy national security adviser for strategic communications, and Kahl, a national security adviser to the former vice-president Joe Biden.
A spokesman for the White House’s national security council offered “no comment” when approached.

Can't wait to see who's the first to excuse this latest scumbaggery with "Everybody does it"...

I can't deal with this right now. I'm still overwhelmed by the fact that two consenting adults had sex 12 years ago.

Today's measured thoughts from our Adolescent Flamer-in-Chief:
NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!
Sleep well tonight, America

The Guardian!!!!! LOL!!! Basically what is next is, the big mouth mullah ran out of the BILLIONS Obama gave them so now they are going to throw a hissy fit for more money. Thankfully, we have real men in office that will cut them off. BTW, thanks Clinton and Obama for giving them the nuke.
Liberalism is like an out-of-control 5 year old at McDonalds. All the talking to and admonishment won't make a difference. They have no concept of right or wrong, they are nothing more than narcissists.

Re: What's next for Iran?
S Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Friday said that Iran’s breakout time – the amount of time needed to produce enough weapons grade material for a nuclear weapon – “is now probably one or two weeks” as Tehran has continued to develop its nuclear program.
The assessment marks the shortest breakout time that US officials have ever referenced and comes as Iran has taken steps in recent months to boost its production of fissile material.
“Where we are now is not in a good place,” the top US diplomat said at the Aspen Security Forum Friday.
“Iran, because the nuclear agreement was thrown out, instead of being at least a year away from having the breakout capacity of producing fissile material for a nuclear weapon, is now probably one or two weeks away from doing that,” he said.

If the Biden lets Trump get away with "It would have never happened, if I was president" crap. Use the damn bully pulpit and hang this around MAGA foreign policys neck.
