Highlights of the The Stable Genius's letter to the President of Turkey:

"Dear Mr. President...Let's work out a good deal! You don't want to be responsible for slaughtering thousands of people, and I don't want to be responsible for destroying the Turkish economy — and I will...History will look upon you favorably if you get this done the right and humane way. It will look upon you forever as the devil if good things don't happen. Don't be a tough guy. Don't be a fool!...I will call you later...Sincerely, Donald Trump."

Ah, the art of the deal...what a persuasive, deep-thinking strategist ROFL

John Q. Public wrote:No video, but today's Donald Quote O'The Day: "US/Italy ties go back to ancient Rome."
In all fairness, what he actually said was, "The United States and Italy are bound together by a shared cultural and political heritage dating back thousands of years to Ancient Rome."

Technically correct but an odd thing to say.

"a shared cultural and political heritage"

For once he's spot on:

...the expansion of the Roman Empire provided opportunities for power-hungry individuals, and the clashing of egos led to collapse of democracy. Julius Caesar ruled for a time as dictator...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday redirected an attack from President Donald Trump on Twitter, turning a photo he had tweeted of her during a contentious White House meeting with the caption "Nervous Nancy's unhinged meltdown!" into her Twitter cover shot.

Pelosi's deputy chief of staff Drew Hammill noted the change on Twitter, writing, "Thanks for the new cover photo @realDonaldTrump!"

At the Meltdown Meeting when Trump was asked "Is your plan to rely on the Syrians and the Turks?" he replied, "Our plan is to keep the American people safe!"

To which Speaker Pelosi said, "That's not a plan, that's a goal."

Poor guy. Even if you don't like him you have to pity him. He's playing checkers while everyone else is playing chess...

Announced today that the G-7 Summit will be held at Trump's Doral Resort.

I give them credit for not trying to hide their money grab from the taxpayer.

Just imagine the poor Trump supporter brokenhearted(one word, by the way) that Trump can make more money from their government.

Or we ask Kevin McCarthy...

"The President's resorts are hotels that he owns. People are traveling, it's just like any other hotel," McCarthy said at a Capitol Hill news conference Tuesday morning. "I don't know that that's different than anything else. Is it different if I go and stay or eat at a Marriott here, or eat at the Trump? The President isn't asking me to. He's competing in a private enterprise.

The tap dancing congressman contradicts himself effortlessly...if it's owned by the president it's not "just like any other hotel" now is it?

I don't know how these things are decided, but are we supposed to think that a non-Trump property would ever be considered?

Another over rated General.... ](*,)

Former CIA Director and retired US Army Gen. David Petraeus said today the US betrayed its longstanding ally in its fight against ISIS, the Syrian Kurds, by withdrawing US forces from the northern part of the country.

Petraeus, who previously oversaw military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, criticized President Trump's decision to withdraw US forces from northern Syria on CNN's "State of The Union."

"Well, I think we have abandoned our Syrian Kurdish partners. They took over 10,000 losses as the defeat of Islamic State was carried out," he told CNN's Jake Tapper. "The elimination of the caliphate that ISIS had certainly with our advice and assistance and enabling and then very suddenly, this is not a phased deliberate plan withdrawal, this is a very sudden exit."

Something that got lost in all the uproar about the "special meaning" of the word "lynching" was the hyperbole in using it to describe what's basically just a personnel decision. Impeachment is bringing action against the president, it isn't killing him or even sending him to jail. That could come later, but it isn't what impeachment is about.
