Mater Dei vs Mission Viejo semi's

Postby hit the lights » Sat Nov 18, 2017 9:10 am

What a Thanksgiving matchup up of two 12-0 teams. 1 and 2 in Orange County.
Mater Dei has destroyed all the teams theyve played for the exceptions of Bishop Gorman , where MD won 35-21
and SJB, 31-21.
Common opponents....
LB POLY- mv won, 12 7. MD won 55-13

Santa Margarita- MV won, 28-23, MD won,70-35

Servite- mv won, 38-36, md won, 51-7

OLU- MV won, 48-35. md won, 51-21

By the looks of these scores, the Diablos better get to church or do some sacrifices to help get the victory.
MATER DEI is # 1 in the nation, and looks to be unstoppable.
This will be a great game for Orange County!
Private vs Public
Evil Empire vs Gods country
Pack the house campaign got what they wanted in matchups.
Bob Johnson vs Rollo
South Coast vs Trinity, but looks like MV has taken most of the trinity out already.

Break down- WHO HAS THE EDGE??
MD- QB, CHECK
MV- RB- check
MD- WR- check
MD- trenches- check
MV-DEFENSIVE BACKFIELD- CHECK
Special teams- even
MV- coaching

The question is how does MD want to approach this game? VS POLY, nothing but emotion and explosion. Where will this game be played?
How bad do they want this game? Will they make this BJ'S LAST SUPPER??
LETS GET IT ON!! :steam:  :fan:

MD by 4 TDs.

Nothing and no one stopping the Monarchs this season.

Can you imagine the pressure on the MV kids next week?
Potentially Johnson's last game EVER and you are playing at home!!!
Just looking at the 2 line ups, I just can't see MV out scoring MD, and I don't see MD suddenly breaking down and not performing at the level they have these past weeks.
MD seems to score at will, get penalties and just throw the ball and keep going!
MV deserves to be there and you never know ( that's why you play the game ) BUT I don't see how MV wins the game

MD's RB's are good too. They just don't get to see as much action since the receivers score so quickly. :D

Nobody has stopped MD's passing attack this season.

MD 49
MV 17

MV is the worst #2 team in the county I've ever seen. This one won't be any different than last week, or the week before, or the week before....

Pressure on the MV kids?!? What are you smoking man?? There's no pressure on those boys. They're local south county boys playing against a team of recruited all-stars from all over Southern California. This is like saying there's pressure on the MV boys basketball team to beat the Bol Bol types that make-up the MD basketball team. Please don't insult our collective intelligence.

Again, this game is over by halftime and again the only real mystery is when the full tuition paying Catholic kids get to put their pom poms down and get onto the field. My bet is after the first series of the 2nd half when the IE Ducks have built a 45 point lead.

So, Domingo, rather than continuing to subject everyone to your one-note symphony, what prevents you from supporting another school? Are you merely constipated, or can you articulate what you'd like to see happen?

No one is changing anyone's mind on this subject...

That said, no one in their right mind thinks this game will be any different then any of the 12 previous.

MV has done everything they could have hoped to achieve, if they are the worst #2 then everyone else must really suck...

So just going to be a fun cruise night, MD will roll past Mission, there could be some good moments for MV but no reason to think MD does not hand MV a 50 Burger, breaks and calls could effect that a little but this game is a highlight for MV final game at home against the # 1 team in the Nation so an honor for MV to have made it to this point, I think I am the only one on record predicting the exact outcome for the semi's.

So MV has over performed and MD has shattered the elite paradigm...

MD fans can enjoy beating a team that over the years beat them regularly and it does show, most MD supporters just love to beat the Devil...

So for an MV fan it will be just how we measure against the greatest high school team ever assembled and marvel at all the talent on one HS Football team...

I am hearing one name for the MV job...and it is good...so there will be little if any drop off and perhaps a new channel of talent come to a some what smallish South County Program...

Going to be a great night for both teams, MD will win by the same margins they have won by all year sans the Gorman, Bosco games and is three games away from both State and National titles...

MV will have ZERO Pressure and may even do better than the peanut gallery surmises...

Rumor has it that the next MV HC is coming from Bosco or it's an ex SM HC...

Mater Dei mercenaries by 35. Game won't be close. Tuition paying players will be in the game by the mid 3rd quarter.

MDDad, does Rollo hate Bob Johnson as much as the MD posters on this board? If the score is 55-7 in the third quarter, does he keep the pedal to the floor to embarrass him in his last game?

No. And I don't think MD posters hate Coach Johnson. I certainly don't. But he's said and done some things over the years that could be seen as abrasive or unthinking, and that can rub some people the wrong way.

If the score is 55-7 in the third quarter, does he keep the pedal to the floor to embarrass him in his last game?

Absolutely not.

MV's kids will feel the pressure, do you want to be the team that LOST Johnson's LAST GAME????
No such thing as a moral victory or an 8th place participation ribbon!!!
The MV kids want to win soon bad they can taste it, and the pressure to do so will be heavy!!
They just won't,

Relax Daforno, there will be no shame for the MV players who take this loss. Maybe if they had been bounced in the first round, but not with a loss to #1 team in the country.
