Can't believe we haven't posted on the passing of Keith Jackson.

I know for a couple of generations, he was the voice of college football. But his Olympic work, and of course, Wide World of Sports work that also is imprinted on so many of us.

Here's a clip that has a lot of Keith Jackson, plus a goodly amount of the Jim McKay doing Wide World of Sports

Ikea Founder Ingvar Kamprad dead at 91.
I can't tell you how many pieces of Ikea furniture I've assembled. Sad to see him go, but I'm pretty sure I cursed him under my breath more than a few times.

Mort Walker, creator of Beetle Bailey cartoon, has died. I used to read that one every Sunday, when I still took the Sunday paper. I haven't read a comic strip in years.

He definitely changed our view of the universe and influenced a generation of scientists, and his work will live on.

He's as close to a idol as I have had. How he could do those absurdly complex calculations in his head with such an inability to communicate - and his mind racing ahead of his speech - is unfathomable. His family said he'll be remembered for years. No, it'll be centuries........................Luca

I agree. Hawking is one of my all-time heroes and inspirations, and his A Brief History Of Time will be in my bookcase for as long as I own books.

I was going to go somewhere like that, but I figured it was an insult to Bozo.

Sometimes entrepreneurs and the successful companies they founded are so closely linked that they even pass away together.

Steven Bochco, 74.

He made some of the greatest TV of his time. Hill Street Blues holds up today, as does NYPD Blue.
