Barkley to Bengals
Barkley to Bengals
Matt Barkley signs a two year deal to be Andy Dalton's back up. Let's see where this take
him. This will be his fourth NFL team. Well, if nothing else, this deal qualifies him for a
guaranteed NFL pension since he will have five years or so on the books. I think he is
still only 27 years old. - If nothing else he has managed to stick around in the NFL this
long - It appears some teams still think he has some value in what they are looking for...
On a side note, after reading the article(s) some more, I guess NFL back up QB's make
some decent money, Barkley gets a $500, 000 dollar signing bonus and an estimated
$1.675 million yearly contract, though all may not be guaranteed, etc; all in all
not bad for a journeyman QB. no?
He lost a ton of money staying at USC that extra season when he would have been
a most likely top ten pick.

Careful - they could fire him 364 days into the contract for a lack of candor
