I have seen his teams play and they play hard, but Servite teams have always played harder than most.
Honest question here: what does "playing hard" mean in this context? Is a hoop team like Servite, clearly outmatched talent-wise, "playing hard" because they are scrapping for loose balls and playing scrappy defense while getting blown out? I think playing hard has to eventually involve having some success right?
Is a more talented team NOT playing hard simply because it doesnt look difficult for them to win? What if the more talented team is winning BECAUSE they are playing hard, smart, and efficient, but it doesnt LOOK like they are TRYING hard because they are playing an inferior team? What would they have to do to get credit for playing hard? Win by 100 instead of 20? If they did that, wouldnt that be called terrible sportsmanship?
I just wonder, because I only seem to hear that bad hoop teams play hard, and that good hoop teams are often "coasting" on talent. That's not being said here, but I think people that do that are being lazy in their analysis.
