Taylor King is a shinning example of how overbearing parents+pot can borderline ruin someone's life. He's lucky that he got to play a semblance of a professional career, but I feel bad for him given what some of his peers have accomplished in comparison (e.g. Klay Thomas, and Kevin Love).
There is nothing uglier in this world than a parent riding on the success of their child.

a waste of a huge talent as well, since his basketball career crash very severely in college, didn't get to play a single game in the NBA, if I remember correctly, he was one of only 2 players on the 2007 McDonalds American roster that did not make it to the NBA.

You must be talking about the West roster, it was absolutely stacked - James Harden, Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon, Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley and Kevin Love

I doubt many on the East roster "made it to", let alone played, in the NBA

10 of the 12 East players did. I guess it depends on what your definition of "many" is.

Lawal didn't make it to the NBA? Ok, well I guess that's 9 out of 12.

He was one of your 10 that "made it" to the NBA...his career lasted 1 minute and 56 seconds

Did you still consider yourself a virgin after your first time?

ya, my mistake, one of only 2 players on the McDonalds All-American West Roster that didn't make it to the NBA, partied a bit too hard in college and off the court issues similar to Todd Marinovich, work ethic declined. Plus, MD playing very well as a team under Gary McKnight's entire tenure as Head Coach, being well-coached, which makes some individual players look better than they actually are. Meanwhile the other California High Schools that have sent players to the NBA and actually lasted longer in the NBA, it's mainly because they were the main star player on their team in High School, it was like a one-man show.
