Here we go less than an hour from THURSDAY NIGHT LIGHTS....,
Sunny Hills and Kennedy, Woodbridge at Santa Ana, Foothill at Yorba Linda, Savannah at Lynwood and Valencia at Santa Fe. (Let us hope SA and possibly some posters here do not take offense to the Woodbridge name, mascot and logo).
With FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS tomorrow post here your comments, analysis on specific games and scores during the night, as I usually do I'll start off the chatter with the OC GAME OF THE WEEK.....,
Game of the Week: No. 9 Corona del Mar at No. 12 San Clemente
San Clemente quarterback Brendan Costello makes his way through Rancho defense during Friday night’s varsity football game between San Clemente and Rancho Cucamonga High Schools, Nov. 10, 2017. (Eric Reed/For The Daily Bulletin/SCNG)
"Winning wasn’t much of a problem for San Clemente’s football program the past three seasons as it marched on without Sam Darnold.
The Tritons entered this fall 33-8 since Darnold departed Avenida Pico on his trek toward playing quarterback and savior for the New York Jets.
But this season, winning has been difficult for No. 12 San Clemente. The Tritons will arrive at Friday’s OCVarsity Game of the Week against visiting No. 9 Corona del Mar with some humbling numbers.
They’re off to one of their worst starts in recent memory at 1-3 and allowing an average of 39.7 points per game."
Like La Habra, San Clemente has taken on a very tough non league schedule. I believe they are better than a 1-3 record losing two heartbreakers to San Diego's best D1 schools. There is no question that this is as big a game for the CDM program as any in recent years. A D4 school playing up to a D1 with twice the public enrollment is no easy task. CDM is the favorite at OCVarsity and Calpreps. Surely San Clemente will have their say in that. Can't wait, let's play ball!
