I am very proud of the Dems for their current actions.

The wall wasn't a priority until the Dems won the elections last November.

The government shutdown is Trump's and McConnell's way of punishing the voters.
They told me if I voted for Hillary Clinton the president would be emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable. They were right. I voted for Hillary Clinton and got a president that is emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable.

That's right! I belong to NO party. I am an American and I know the difference between right and wrong and I am intellectually honest to admit there are wrongs on both sides. The progressives in this country are destroying everything good and decent in this country and if you think the Ocacia-Perez's or the other outright America hating socialists is the answer, then you have no common sense. You really should lay low and discuss other topics.

The fact that she has you talking about her let's the rest of know that you know she is making sense.

What? The fact that we talk about her proves she makes sense? If that's true, then Donald Trump makes more sense than anybody.

Seriously Red, if your childish insult-filled rants are what you believe represent what's 'good and decent" in this country, I'd have to say you don't know the meaning of 'good and decent". The fact that you support a lying serial adulterer says all that needs to be said about your values and what you believe.

She's got White Republicans like red in nearly a full panic. They don't know what to do other than call her names.

And she's the most junior, most outlying member of the caucus. I guess some people just scare easily.

Won't happen.

We know it's standard procedure to write a book then run for president so you can have the world stage to advertise it for free. Surprise! she has a book coming out.

She has an anti-LGBT past. She'll get no where but get free book advertising.

After you calm down, can you post this in a more understanding way? Who hates America and why?

Not belonging to any party is one thing - but the inability to rationally post the right and wrong on both sides, means you lean to only one.

Ten years in the U.S. House of Representatives
Two terms in the U.S. Senate
Chair or leadership accomplishments on congressional committees
One term as Secretary of State, or Defense, or Attorney General
One term as Vice President
Two terms as Governor of a large state

I think being a successful governor is good experience, because it demonstrates executive experience and the ability to compromise and successfully negotiate with a legislature. The obvious shortfall is the lack of foreign policy experience.

Good stuff MDD. It would be interesting to me, and maybe Red, to map who we consider our best presidents against this criteria down to who would be considered the worst. How would you rank this experience in order of importance?

I'd go:

Governor - 5
VP - 4
Committee Chair - 3
Secy's - 2
Senate - 1
House - 1

Score adjusted by length of term relative to your criteria.

I'd go with the person must be a natural-born citizen of the United States and must have been a permanent resident of the United States of America for at least 14 years. Each candidate must be at least 35 years of age.

Can we assume that everyone panting and drooling over a presidential run by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doesn't know about this?
