I don’t think Amat not playing Mater Dei has anything to do with “behavior.” It has to do with Amat not wanting to get beat by 3-5 TDs for the 4th straight season opener.

That would seem more likely, but the effect is the same. Some will not schedule all-star teams out of principle, and some out of the feeling that it would be a futile endeavor.

Well, obviously we have giant butterflies in CA. They's climbin' in your windows, They's snatchin' your people up, tryin' to steal 'em. So y'all need to hide your kids, hide your stars, and hide your coaches cause they're grabin' everybody out here.

Funny, there used to be a day (up until a few years ago) when the top teams in SoCal didn't have such a problem.

Amat has a short memory. They forget the Haden years when they rung up 70 on a helpless Pius X team when scoring 70 was never done. They left Haden and McKay in the entire game to set a record for the day.

OMG yes, these ski mask “thugs” in the NFL playoffs must have been inspired by Mater Dei

Well this kinda goes under "SCHEDULING" I suppose but I almost felt like it should get it's own headline.....

"San Clemente's Coach Ortiz "THROWS DOWN the GAUNTLET"......!

Lets face it respected people are getting irked now....... :steam:

Coach O just articulated what's taking place on the scheduling front. If this were some baggage-laden backup level NFL QB who couldn't get a job, you'd think there was collusion amongst the HS coaches who have chosen to allow the xfer inclined schools to seek games elsewhere.

Thank You Coach Ortiz! Tell the all-star teams to look elsewhere. Don't schedule teams with built-in unfair advantages.

Prof - is there someone out there trying to poach kids from other programs on Servite's behalf?

No, Servite does it on their own behalf.

Professor, remember all those 4-star out-of-county transfers Servite has poached over the years? No way we'd let Bosco and MD be the only ones! There was that guy, uh, I forget his name--nevermind....and the other one, where was he from again? Wait, you sure there haven't been any---I could've sworn. I mean, everybody says so....hmmm --:--

Yeah, I've issued that challenge a few times before. But I'll do it again. Anybody want to tell us just how many senior or junior 4* or 5* transfers Servite has taken in in the entire history of the school? Anybody??? Come on, just blurt it out if you know it. Come on, you can say it...they all know.

I'll give you a hint...it's a curved number.

Professor, I can't understand why you continue to use this position as your justification. Servite had more transfers on their team last season than any other school in Orange County, and your defense continues to be that it's OK because they were crappier than the fewer transfers at other schools? As though that's some kind of virtue?

Prof - I'm in agreement with the esteemed 3 striped troll from the left on this one. Just because the salmon is farm raised instead of wild caught, doesn't mitigate the fact it's still poached.

Yes it’s not the strongest argument in favor of Servite. I think it would be advisable to stop making it. Servite is more in the game now. Previously they weren’t really trying hard to go after athletes. With Thomas back I think the philosophy there may be a little different. Give it a little time.

By the way has anyone seen that Netflix Show QB1 Beyond the Lights. Season 2 has some interesting insight into the Re-al Mitchel to DJ switch that took place at QB for Bosco in 2017. By all measurements Mitchell seems like a good solid kid. However the situation is so emblematic of HS sports these days. Once he lost the job to DJ the dad basically said you are done here and they exaggerated the injury to save face. Bosco otherwise looks fine in the documentary.

His “undisclosed injury” was revealed under a Freedom of Information Act request: severe butthurt. Through treatment and recovery, he was able to heal in time to become a WR at Iowa State by the end of the season.

LOL What did you expect? Did you think they would follow Terry Bullock and Jacob Negro on an in-home recruiting visit to Downey or Long Beach?

I think what you are seeing (and will continue to see) is the kids from MD/Bosco who are being replaced by the 4-star transfer, transferring to the other Trinity schools. It’s a game of musical chairs but make no mistake, MD/Bosco get the first chair, everyone else is scrambling for the remaining chairs.

It’s ugly and there’s no honor in any of it, but it’s the reality of So Cal Football now until the CIF steps in.
