good point.

I had SJB running away with it until I saw what MD was bringing in.

Even if they wanted to, they can't. CIF State passed a rule where you can't play a school that doesn't qualify for their Section/State Championship, i.e. IMG, DeMatha (used to have rivalry w/MD basketball stemming back to 1983)...

MD's four transfers, a kicker, a nose guard, an O-lineman and a 10th grade receiver, hardly qualifies as a talent dump at Bristol and Edinger....

DeMatha plays in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference. That qualifies them to play SJB.

My mistake, I meant Oak Hill, which in fact is nowhere close to DeMatha, but the example still applies...

Which is what mystifies me about MD's game with St Frances. From what I can see, SF doesn't participate in Maryland's state playoffs, either; just like IMG. What gives?

St Frances does participate. The deal with them is that every team in their league refused to play them. They were also crowned the Maryland champions by default for whatever section they are in.

That's bizarre. Thanks for the explanation.
