I wonder how CIF will handle this? In the past there have been instances of high school sports programs imploding for a number of reasons, including coach's criminal behavior, and CIF allowed kids to transfer out and compete at other schools without having to move their primary residence. Not sure this instance rises to that level, but.....
athletes (ever heard of a public school during this, probably few and far between) AND a new AD in
the Narbonne administratoion, I mean, something must be heavy duty to do all this, people are saying
the HC most likely ain't coming back...
Someone rattted someone out on this one! Wonder if they will have to give up wins/championships, etc
Not sure how common it is, but that's what we have at Los Al.a vice principal of athletes (ever heard of a public school during this, probably few and far between)..
district is still investigating - IMO; if it was something minor, the Narbonne HC would have been back
already, with all the administrative changes the school district made, I think something major happened
recently or even over the past years - you never know, things might turn ugly from some...
can let the football's program past wins and championships stand - is the current coaching staff telling the
players and parents what is going on? - seems to be a school administration and football program gone deeply astray?
Let Coach CJ know that the new recruiting tool is, homlessness living in your motorhome, where the address always changes. Today your on Lapaz, tomorrow on Oso. Just get the deets on city overnight parking . You could get 4 kids per motorhome. Texas, Michigan, New Jersey. go gig em!
hit the lights
Clovis Buchanan is basically a one man team (Georgia commit and future pro RB Kendall Milton), but they rolled them on ESPN and looked like they didn’t even need suspended HC Manny Douglas.
QB Jake Garcia might be the best junior QB in the country, and looked like it. He has a ton of weapons like USC commit WR and OLu transfer Josh Jackson, and that’s with two talented out of state WR transfers sitting out — Alabama commit Traeshon Holden (Baltimore St Frances Academy transfer, originally from Orlando FL) and Kobe Stewart (Marietta GA transfer).
They have two good backs, especially Jack Brown, and certainly don’t seem to miss Marceese Yetts (now at MD) or JoJuan Collins (started at MD, then at Dorsey, now potentially embroiled in the academic issues). They’ve got size on both lines, including a 6-8 left tackle. They will be hard to stop for the teams on their schedule/in their division.
LB Jordan Banks is a dude, as is DT Jordan Berry (LSU). Both are LA Hawkins transfers (who on this roster isn’t a transfer?).
They’ve got a good Lone Peak (UT) team this week, then slight challenges against OLu, Gardena Serra and Div 2-A state champ Lawndale, but after that they won’t be challenged until the state SoCal regional game.
Roster construction aside, this is arguably the 3rd best team in California, don’t @ me lol
RP, what is your take on Olu, shocked SJH kept with in 6...Frith for SJH is one of the better HC's in OC, had ET on the rise went down to SC for a bit...really like this coach, but me thinks there's more to the story! What do ya know?
Game wise, it was more like OLu 27-Joey Hobert 21.
Hobert DETONATING on the OLu defense for a line of 10-218-3(TD) is certainly not a good look, especially considering SJH doesn’t exactly have Patrick O’Brien back there at QB or Sean Rhyan on the OL. But Hobert might be the best WR in OC not named Humphreys, so it’s somewhat understandable. And Frith’s teams can always score, going back to the Connor Manning days at El Toro.
This entire OLu team leans young, but their best and most veteran defenders are in the front seven per JP Pressley. Yet from what I saw they were playing a lot of man coverage — which I can’t understand. Outside of RJ Reagan, they just don’t have the guys for that.
The kids up front like Wes Uipi and Joey Wiersma, the Laban bros. and Ethan Howard are their best defenders. I would play as much zone as possible and funnel everything to the middle of the field, especially in the red zone. Yet they ran 1 safety man looks or zero coverage in the clips I saw. They’ve got to get that fixed or theyre going to struggle to slow down SM, let alone SJB and MD.
I guess we’ll find out what the adjustments were immediately, with the Lancers rolling into Corona to take on a pissed off Centennial team. If Hobert went for 218, Gary Bryant might go for 400 if they try to stick him man to man.
