Bernie Sanders is out of the race.

Postby Tommy Tar » Wed Oct 02, 2019 7:01 am

Bernie Sanders experienced chest discomfort during a campaign event on Tuesday and had two stents inserted to address a blockage in an artery, his campaign announced.

“Sen. Sanders is conversing and in good spirits. He will be resting up over the next few days," senior adviser Jeff Weaver said in a statement. "We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice, and we will continue to provide appropriate updates.”

Two stents, pfft. He'll be back at it within a couple weeks. Actually surprising it's his first time.

But it's probably politically devastating with his age issue in the first place.

Sen. Sanders is third in the polls with Warren in second and moving up. Sen Sanders health maybe okay but canceling his events at the same time he's falling in the polls tells me it's over for him.

We've got over a year until election day...a lot can happen in that time...relax.

Ethan Weiss, a cardiologist at the University of California, San Francisco, said the stent procedure Sanders underwent typically is “not anything I would get too excited about,” calling it "mostly a nuisance."

Weiss, who did not diagnose Sanders, added, "Unless I’m missing something dramatic, he should be in the hospital one or two days, and he should be fine.”

Late Wednesday afternoon, Sanders tweeted that he is "feeling good" and used the incident to plug his single-payer health care plan.

I know this is a hard concept for Trump supporters to grasp, but since the thread title is a lie, please edit or delete it. Thank you.

Go Bernie! He probably already has the hospital plastered with campaign signs.

I'm leaving the title as is and considering it opinion. Considering his arteries are now wide open, he's probably healthier than a lot of us are.

Putting the "is" at the front and making it a question would be the normal way to title it, but these are not normal times, are they?

I wish people would stop blaming the "times' we live in for the insanity we see in people. Blame trump supporters for their stupidity, not the calendar.

"Bernie Sanders will be participating in the next Democratic presidential debate on Oct. 15 in Ohio, the senator’s campaign told CNBC on Thursday, one day after a health scare.″[Campaign] operations are continuing as usual and he will be at the debate,” Sanders’ spokeswoman Sarah Ford wrote in an email to CNBC."
