It’s been a tough few days for Santa Margarita. Eric Sweet, the father of Logan and Kyle, passed away last week from brain cancer now Max. Praying for these two great families.

Wow...tragic news

Apparently hiking with his mother/father. Has to be brutal watching your son drop dead before your eyes. Prayers to the family.

Max passed from earth to heaven cradled in his father's arms. May he enjoy the rich rewards of eternal life.

The world's worst Father's Day.

In all the years that I've followed HSFB, Max was one of the most fascinating players I've ever seen. Almost the perfect offensive lineman. As a sophomore I could see he was a D1 prospect. As a senior I thought his NFL career was a given. He was simply an excellent athlete who grew to 300 pounds. Wherever Santa Margarita wanted to run the ball, they would just move Max to that point on the offensive line. It gave away the intent, but it made no difference. You could not stop him.

Starting OT as a freshman at SC and a projected first rounder until he hurt his knee and I don't think he ever recovered. He was a great one and could have been a great one in the NFL had he stayed healthy. I only met the young man once and I was impressed. Others knew him much better and were similarly impressed.

A professional career lost and a young life lost. Things like this make you count your blessings and bow your head for God's less fortunate creatures.....................................Luca

This for me epitomizes the term "Damn It"
A tragedy for those parents that I could not or prefer not to imagine.
Godspeed young man and may God bless and touch your family.
