Good to see high school baseball has returned to California. Specifically looking at the Trinity league it should be an interesting year. JSerra seems to be the fan-favorite to win it all this year both in the league and in playoffs. They are off to a slow start at a 3-3 record with losses to Chaminade, Harvard-Westlake, and Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. Orange Lutheran is probably the 2nd best team in the league but honestly who knows. They are 5-1 and their only loss is to Notre Dame. Servite and Santa Margarita seem to be the teams for the 3rd spot. SM seems to be young with a lot of sophomores on the roster. They had a big win over Gahr to open the season with blowout wins against Orange County powerhouses El Toro and Capo Valley. Servite seems to have a solid pitching staff. They have big wins against Bishop Amat and Inland Empire powerhouse Corona. My sleeper team for the year is Mater Dei. A lot of returners and a very upper-class heavy team with a ton of experience. They are 6-1 with wins over Chaminade and Harvard-Westlake. Bosco seems to be the bottom team this year with a rough start of 2-4. Let's hear everyone's thoughts on high school baseball in SoCal!
