Just in Aaron Corp was hired as OLU's OC. Great addition for the come back to prominence.

Villa Park’s finest. Arguably the best player in school history. All OLu QBs will be immediately required to switch to a defensive back face mask in tribute.

maybe but as I recall he had a hell of a supporting cast, Blake Ayles, the Pumasa brothers
and a ton more. that was a very good team. That was also pre Bosco transfer days and OLU
was not the first to visit that portal.

@watchersince68 you forgot his most dangerous target, Austin Pettis. That kid made plays that were mind boggling. He was one of the reasons the 2006 match between them and Servite was an absolute classic.

Agreed, but OF COURSE!

We’re talking about a dominant championship team, in the greatest team sport on Earth; there hasn’t been a great player at any level of football in history that didn’t have a helluva supporting cast. Particularly at QB.

Not a comparison of players or levels whatsoever, but think about just that concept at the NFL level: Johnny Unitas and Bart Starr to Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. Individually legendary football players are always better because of their teammates. Should never take away from them being recognized as great.

Having had good blockers and receivers doesn’t diminish the fact that Corp performed like a lutheran superhero during his high school days. Martin Luther himself would have to admit that OLu hasn’t been anywhere near the level Corp took them to since he graduated, and they may never be.

Isn't that the whole point.
Corp coming back will make everyone at OLU "feel" good, but he won'y have the 36-48 studs that Bosco and Mater Dei have.
His kids will be OK and play hard, but the numbers don't add up. It's going to be a long uphill battle, Bosco and MD have separated themselves from the other's in the Trinity!
The 22 kids BOTH Bosco and MD start, along with their depth make it an unfair fight right now.
Corp will need at least a complete class ( 4 years ) to get close, and while he and the rest of the Trinity are trying to build up Bosco and MD will keep stock piling talent!

You are right how could I forget Pettis?

And Daforno is correct they will need four years at least, hope the powers to be understand that.
Aaron is coming from a college system and should understand what it takes to entice the kids they will need to compete. I also suspect the kids that want to play immediately will come first.

Another great move by new OLu AD Vince Brown hiring former MD/UCLA player and MD 2017 national championship asst. coach Chris Ward off the private coaching circuit. This is the best coaching staff OLu has had in a LONG time. Now they just need to attract a competitive talent level and prevent their best kids from transferring to rivals before they reach their senior year ...

I agree with Sondy. Great hire by Vince Brown at OLu.
