Fall 2021 HS Football National Rankings

Post by RedPillWonderland »

High School Football America Preseason Top 100 released:

Mater Dei starts the season #1 in this poll as well. Other than that, HSFBA poll (using its “proprietary algorithm”) is dramatically different than Maxpreps, even when just looking at the top 25.

Bosco at #7. De La Salle #29. Servite #55. Sierra Canyon the only other California team in the top 100, at #60. I think I’m developing cataracts because I looked for Corona Centennial several times in the top 200 and even among the California “honorable mention” teams and I don’t see them.

MD foe Duncanville (TX) is at #16. Bosco opponents Miami Central (#22) and Oscar Smith (Virginia) (#98) are also ranked.

Mater Dei Profile:

Story says MD will play 8 teams ranked in the HSFB America top 300, which obviously includes Bosco, Duncanville, and Servite. I guess they put Cen10 in there somewhere? I’m sure Matt Logan is drawing up line splits on a whiteboard somewhere in Corona and doesn’t give a s#]+ about this, but my God the utter disrespect!

Speaking of Mater Dei and Centennial, the latest chapter in their ongoing private/public rivalry is only 5 weeks from today.

All the way down in "honorable mention" (i.e. somewhere in 200-300) Disrespect indeed!

They forgot them yesterday, added them today.

Not sure how this HSFB America “proprietary algorithm” works, but if its conclusion is that there are 200+ better HSFB teams than Centennial (even in preseason), I don’t trust it.

You have to believe that if Austin (TX) Westlake goes undefeated and wins another Texas state title, and is in a tiebreaker with Mater Dei/Bosco or others in national polls, votes will go to Westlake because Coach Dodge is retiring. Same would apply if Rollo was retiring.

Yeah, that's all the proof that's needed that there's a bug in that algorithm!🤣
