Re: War in Ukraine
I heard on the radio that Russia is advising tourists visiting Crimea that they can take the land route to get back home. Not clear on if they told them about the artillery fire.

Re: War in Ukraine
Russian tourists are a fickle bunch, I guess.
Russian tour operators are pleading with vacationers to Crimea not to make decisions “based on emotions,” as Ukraine’s strike on the Crimea bridge on Monday played havoc on travel between the occupied Ukrainian peninsula and Russia.

I cannot find any verification. I read a blurb somewhere that France is offering asylum to any Russian military personnel.
Could be interesting.

Besides knowing immediately that they're on the side of Imperial Russia, whenever I hear people say "the Ukraine," I think of that Miss Teenage So. Carolina contestant and her "other countries... such as... the Eye-rack..."

An Admiral this morning said it probably means the boat has a leak and they should probably look into it.

TASS is reporting a business jet has crashed in the Tver region. Killing all passengers. One of whom is reported to be Wagner Group leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Re: War in Ukraine
So. Elon either wouldn't turn on Starlink over Crimea or he turned it off to thwart Ukraine's attack. Either version of the story implies that he knew about the operation. How did he get the information? Was it included in the request or did he have people monitoring communications? Blame it on him if you want but somebody else screwed up bigtime for him to have known about it.

Re: War in Ukraine
The big numbers to me in this are that 63% of Americans still support aid to Ukraine and less than 20% support the far right's idea of "negotiating" and ceding territory to Putin. The loudest voices rarely share the majority's opinion.
