Federal crime/FBI involvement != national story even on a slow news day. There are probably dozens of cases filed every day in our 94 federal courts, all investigated by one federal policing agency or another. Very few even make the local news after the initial incident, if that was even covered.

The he said-he said story is..... nice. Were there any witness statements?

Love it!
Aww...too bad you didn't get what you wanted in Germany...I guess they didn't know which way they were supposed to turn.

Germany says it foiled a far-right coup plot. Here's what we know

The far-right coup plotters had mapped out their own government, with people chosen for cabinet-like roles if they succeeded in overthrowing Germany's elected leaders. That's among the revelations shared by German officials on Wednesday in an update on what they say was a conspiracy foiled by a massive anti-terrorism operation.

At least 25 people are under arrest, including 22 suspected members of a "terrorist organization," Public Prosecutor General Peter Frank said in a brief news conference.

The conspiracy's goal, Frank said, was to overturn "the existing state order in Germany based on democracy, using violence, and to replace it with their own state," according to a translation by Deutsche Welle.

I would think a "right wing" coup in Europe's largest and wealthiest nation would be headline news for more that 6 hours. —:—

Not sure what point you're trying to make...just now a google search of "Germany coup" generated 85 million hits...BBC, AP, Reuters, NPR, APN, The Guardian, Politico, NYT, ... —:— :eh?:

1. It wasn't a coup. Not even an attempted coup. It was some people plotting a coup. Kinda like Rudy's planning session at the Willard Hotel.

2. American media's attention span is about as short as the American public's. Try Deutsch Welle. It's their country and the American media have car chases to cover.

3. It's Europe. Their laws about what can be released to the public are a little different.
